Remodeling a bathroom with contemporary style

contemporary bathrooms

Today, well designed bathrooms are beautiful, durable and highly functional. The sleek, minimalist style of a contemporary bathroom features a streamlined, uncluttered look with an emphasis on textures, materials, lines, lighting, and cutting edge design. An important component of a contemporary bathroom is consistency of design. The beauty of modern baths lie in the minimal way that everything showcasing smooth, sleek lines are integrated together. High gloss surfaces such as stainless steel, glass, natural stone, hardwood and other materials that are finished to brandish an amazing sheen make up for a fabulous addition to your modern bathroom remodeling. Bathroom remodeling creates an intimate area in your home that affords its masters as well as the rest of the household the functionality and beauty that they long for. Add a dash of luxury and maximized comfort to that and you’ll discover a project well worth the investment.

Family Function in Style

The challenge for this single downstairs bath was to incorporate durability. Glass mosaic tiles wrap a portion of wall, which was furrowed six inches to accommodate cast iron pipes and still allow for the use of a ll-mounted faucet. Cherry cabinets and weathered copper fixtures tie this bath into the traditional styling of the old home. A granite vessel sink, mosaic tiles, and contemporary light fixtures give eclectic balance to the space. Cheryl Kees Clendenon

Entertaining in Style

The designer brought this showcase room together with exceptional materials and attention to the traffic flow based on the shape of the bar top and the beautiful lake view. Opposite the bar is a double-sided fireplace with a hand-carved mantel, above which is a large television. This complex space feels at once welcoming and demonstratively luxurious in its detail. Read Part I and Part II of this series.

Konstantin Grcic, one the most influential designers in the world, is recognized not only by the established, but admired by the young. He has his own style which cannot be compared to anyone else. The simplicity and functionality of his designs conceal a great lesson in technique and are even more than what meets the eye. The B Chair, debuted in Milan, was designed to complement the B Table from the Extrusion collection that Grcic designed for BD in 2009. This B Chair is made mostly of wood and has pieces of aluminum built in its structure allowing for the X-shaped legs and folding seat. This is a detail of genius! The variety of colors is not a bad touch either.
