Home Renovation in the Swiss Alps, a Fantastic Mix of Natural and Modern

We really enjoy seeing homes in which nature elements are integrated. Today’s home was renovated by Christian Speck of Formzone and has a particular and genuine charm. Located in a beautiful village in the Swiss Alps, this house combines modern design aspects with amazing rustic elements, creating an unparalleled atmosphere. Some of the rooms of these house are entirely contemporary, without any uncommon addition- while others have stone walls integrated and wooden rustic elements. Some of the doors are absolutely fascinating, reminding of the world as we know it from decades ago. The terrace is a place where the owners can enjoy the amazing views of the Alps, while having their breakfast at the beginning of the day. What does this home make you think about?- via Desire to Inspire

Beautiful House Integrated in the Natural Environment of the Residential Area

The initial idea of this project is to integrate the house in the natural environment of the residential area in which it is. In that way, the house looks to the fantastic views of lakes and green extensions that spread over the common areas of the estate. The structures house is based on game of two rectangular volumes. They are solving with clean finishes, good materials and exclusive qualities. The verandas and the pergolas, elements as volumetric as the housing, give personality to the facade. The covering as such disappears turning into a flat roof as expression of the evolution of the creative process. The forms purity moves to the constructive scheme, to the materials and to the environment impelling the union between the building and the context where it is located.

Simulating Natural Light by Daniel Rybakken

Sometimes apartments don’t always come with the right amount of windows. This means daylight is scarce. Daniel Rybakken is a young designer from Sweden. Living in Northern Europe, a place where natural lighting is limited throughout the year,Daniel studied the effects the lack of light has on people. As you probably already know, sunlight is associated with happiness for physical reasons also. His recreation of daylight could have a very positive effect on unconsciously changing the mood of the people looking at its effects. Moreover, as we already stated, this is a wonderful idea for tight spaces with no windows. His project was present at the Salone Satellite 2010 Milan and is nominated for the The Swedish Design Award”. Nice going!-via Yatzer
