When first seeing the photos of this unusual briefcase desk, we hoped it was made from recycled materials. But apparently it was created using leather. All in all, the idea is interesting and worth showcasing. We don’t know if this desk was meant for nomadic souls and wanderers, or if you can pack it up once you are done working. Still, its practicability is obvious: the improvised luggage can be used as drawers for storage and there are definitely a lot of things one could store in six briefcases. The opening system is fun and could remind one of traveling every time a drawer is opened. Its color choice is interesting, not too sober, nor too playful, just fine for an office with a personality.- via Recyclart

Displayed in the ICFF booth during the recent international fair, the BRC Designs are designed by Benjamin Rollins Caldwell. BRC Designs melds timeless and unconventional materials into unique yet simple furniture designs. Each piece of furniture is handcrafted by a small team of skilled craftsmen under the close artistic direction of Benjamin Rollins Caldwell. In the pictures attached below you can see some of BRC creations that were designed using odd and unusual materials, making very functional items out of them. This idea with tubes got my attention and I’m pretty sure that the idea can be developed into an interesting piece of furniture if a company wants to pay more attention to details. – Via – Homedit

De Meza + Architecture + Interiors created this beautiful bathroom pattern for San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2010. You are probably all familiar with the tile trends lately and the interiors one could create by mixing the right ones together. However, we believe the pictures below bring so much originality to the niche that we just had to share them. You are looking at an elaborate design with a few surprise elements where nothing is left to chance: Instead of trying to recreate the past by using black and white porcelain tile, we created a custom glass mosaic pattern that is truly unexpected. We started with the back wall of the shower, drawing inspiration from a photo of a French staircase that used tiled words on the risers. Taking that idea a step further, we envisioned a ticker tape effect repeating a message spelled out in pixelated type. We particularly liked this message and the fact that the floor tiles were especially chosen to create the feeling of movement.

I never thought that a chair could be so simple, but in the same way make me say wow. Designed by Bata Design the Ice Chair can create a really interesting illusion, and of course make a room feel more big and clean. Brazilian designers Helena Bueno and Heinz Maller have managed to create quite a minimalistic wonder as the first think you notice about the Ice Chair is its sleek exterior and durable construction. Finally I see this piece of furniture working more in a commercial set up like stores and offices.
