Unconventional Chair and Miniature Bookcase : Bookseat
We posted a lot of ideas on Freshome that emphasized some unusual extra functions that a chair may have, aside from providing seating space. Here’s an idea that is perfect for those who enjoy a good book more often than others. Bookseat comes from Fishbol and it is basically a miniature bookcase which was elegantly curved in order to become a comfortable chair. This double function turns Bookseat into an original furniture item, suited for traditional interiors, but for contemporary ones as well. The unusual chair was showcased at Toronto Interior Design Show 2008, but we decided to post it on Freshome nevertheless, because we found out that it will be relaunched in 2011 in an updated version. Bookseat comes with a cushion available in a variety of colors, but the books you have to buy separately.- via HomeQn

Elegant Chair, Couch and Bookcase in a Single Furniture Piece
“Bucefalo” comes from Emanuele Canova and is a project with a triple function: it can be a chair, a couch and also a bookcase. What we consider to be extremely fascinating is the fact that its functionality doesn’t stand in the way of its impeccable design. Classy and elegant, this furniture piece fits wonderfully in a stylish contemporary home. Once integrated in an interior, it will probably become the room’s focal point. A subtle book shelving system is located below the seating area which provides enough storage space for a small reading arrangement. The design is available in black and white and some models feature wood finishes. The complementary pillows add charm without affecting the overall soberness of the product. -via Totonko

Ridiculously Expensive Speakers Inspired by the Eames Chair
Inspired by the famous Eames Chair, these classy speakers give out elegance and good taste. However, being given that they are ridiculously expensive -$6000 a pair- we have to say elegance comes in a variety of forms and perhaps one could search for it somewhere else. Designed by Davone Ray, we have to admit these speakers caught our attention. After all, their design is impeccable and it has all the attributes for success: originality in idea and shape, a famous predecessor and plenty of style. They could go great in a minimalist living room, creating a charming atmosphere. Since this product can definitely rise some questions, we are eager to find out what you think. -via Unplggd

Zip-Up Chair by Kim In-bo
The Zip-Up Chair is a cool piece of furniture designed by Kim In-bo. This chair was intended for small apartments that demand functional furniture, but I can also see it in a mansion. I’m pretty sure that a lot of people will call this idea as stupid or kitch but I see it as fun. Zip open, turn down a few swabs and park your posterior onto an impromptu stool. What do you think about this idea ? Cool or stupid ? – Via – YankoDesign
