Contemporary double bed SUPERIA II

Superia II is a frame bed that is superior to the rest. The springiness, durability and “softness” of the springs are key factors when it comes to how well you sleep at night and, in turn, how good you feel during the day. Hastens

Premium freestanding tubs with elegant and minimalist design

Amalfi Freestanding Tub

Free Standing Bathtubs tend to be the centerpiece of bathroom furniture. A free standing tub can change the look of a bathroom or even introduce a bold concept to another room of the home. Freestanding bathtubs come in several different styles and sizes. Freestanding bathtubs could be made out of acrylic, porcelain, resin, stone, copper or cast iron.
Elegant and minimalist, premium tubs from Victoria & Albert could fill any modern but compact bathroom, allowing long relaxing soaks without any troubles. They all have unique design and different set of features like full head support, low step-in height and side by side bathing for two people. [Via, Victoria & Albert]

Tweet for Love Notes

This little birdie from Mo Man Tai takes Twitter back quite a few years, back to when people used to write love notes. I’m not saying that people don’t still write love letters, but there was a time when they were more of a big deal.

In this time of “twittering” it’s a great gift to tell someone something in the “old-fashioned (romantic) way.” This cute little bird-shaped love note holder is laser-cut from different metal leftovers. Called “Tweet,” it is made from 3- to 5-mm stainless steel or aluminium, but you can’t choose because you’re gonna get whatever metal is left over at that time. It comes with 10 pieces of paper so you can get started writing the perfect love letter to your sweetheart.

Tititkaka Bench

The new Titikaka bench, in teak lathes with an aluminium frame, contradicts the rigid shape of traditional outdoor benches. Perhaps the waves of the bolivian lake inspired this ingenious piece where the surface of the seat seems to almost ripple with wonderful effect of wind over water. Naoto Fukasawa

BD Is Not a Style Part I: Jaime Hayon

BD Is Not a Style. This was very obvious in BD Barcelona Designs very minimal and under-designed booth at the Salone Mobile International in Milan. The designers names listed on the wall captured my attention not the over-the top-design of the space. In fact if anything, I initially turned my nose up at the booth as I passed by. But with designers such a Jaime Hayon, Ross Lovegrove, and Konstantin Grcic, I knew there was much more to it than what first met the eye! Here is a look at the incredible new designs from these artists, starting with Jaime Hayon.

Jaime Hayon, the youngest Spanish designer with the greatest international recognition, presented The Lounger, a perfect blend between classicism and modernity. In Showtime plastics coexist with quilted upholstery, the glossiness of lacquered wood and the best ceramic traditions. The contrasts and sophistication which lend personality to Jaime Hayons work are represented in this extensive collection which ranges from vases to chairs. Now it is completed with a new piece, The Lounger, which will also satisfy those who have more classical tastes. An elegant and comfortable wing chair with one-color finishes and optional footrest.

Look for parts II and III coming up!
